Our founder, Carmen So, is a dedicated educator fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. With over 15 years of experience as a piano accompanist and music educator, she brings both depth and passion to her teaching. After completing her Bachelor of Education (Music) in Hong Kong in 2019, Carmen began her career in the city’s public school system, where she served as a music panel head. During the pandemic, she founded the school’s virtual choir, Animato, which kept students engaged in a vibrant musical community despite the challenges of remote learning. She also taught in the choral division at Yip's Children’s Choral and Performing Arts Centre and served as a piano teacher at Parsons Music.

After obtaining her Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) designation, Carmen continued her teaching journey in both public schools and private institutions across Canada. Her extensive background in choral training and music education enriches her teaching approach, enabling her to guide students with confidence in both solo and ensemble settings. She has also shared her musical expertise as a conductor and pianist at Toronto Ling Liang Church.

Carmen’s students have consistently achieved outstanding results in RCM examinations and success in local music festivals. She is committed to nurturing each learner’s growth through a balanced focus on technical proficiency, creative expression, and confidence building.

At Lefim Music Studio, Carmen fosters a welcoming and inspiring environment where students of all ages and skill levels can thrive. Guided by her belief that music is for everyone, she helps students not only develop their musical abilities but also discover the joy and confidence to share their music with others.
